I will dominate 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants confronted each other to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's greatest financial successes, consistently making huge earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
